Daidomon Japanese BBQ - recommended NOT !

Someone actually recommended me this Japanese Shasimi cum BBQ buffet called Daidomon in Great Eastern Mall, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur ... when I said I love Tenji in SohoKL, Mont. Kiara. He was saying Daidomon is 'better' and always FULL ...

So I called and make a reservation before going. I got this sticker on the table I sit in.

This is what the shop looks like, quite nice I would say ...

and next to it is a Fitness store, PERFECT for an after buffet visit ...

Once inside the buffet shop, I was welcomed by this lady, so far the experience is quite nice ...

These are oysters, instead of eating them life and fresh like I used to in most Japanese restaurant. This one you BBQ it with butter. When I asked for raw oysters like the way I like it, the waiter replied, "Sorry, our oysters are NOT fresh ..."

Looks pretty yurky isn't it ? But after fully cooked, this oyster turn out to be the BEST dish. It actually tasted quite nice. However everything went downhill onward ... By the way, this disk is limited. The servant will bring a plate to your desk and there is NO refill.

BBQ meats look nice but still very frozen. No special comment on the taste, nothing to remember about other than its good look.

Scallops are OK, acceptable and can consider another good dish. Limited dish too, NO refill !

These are the remaining BBQ stuff. Only Tuna and Salmon are ok. BBQ fire is not well controlled, no BBQ sauce or oil, things get burn fast or not cooked at all etc.

Na ... this is the salmon shasimi. If you think this looks nice. Then may be this buffet is suitable for you, since you don't have much demand for good food. The white lines are so THIN, there is NOT enough fat in it to make up the taste.

The best I can say for it is that it can match Sushi King's level. Not even close to Sake Sushi. Not to mention absolutely disqualified comparing to REAL shashimi in Equatoria and Tenji etc.

The entrace or exit to the restaurant is this big hall .... rather nicely decorated.

All the things you see in this hall are actually ART master pieces ... like this lamp ... guess how much it is selling for ?

Not even MYR 20,000 ! I believe flea market may go for MYR 20 !?

The pricing is more complicated than other buffet ...

Adult who wants Shasimi and BBQ : about $40
Kids who wants Shasimi and BBQ : about $20
Adult WITHOUT Shasimi and BBQ : about $20 ?
Kids WITHOUT Shasimi and BBQ : about $10

The whole table must choose the SAME package, ie. you can't have person A takes the shasimi and another one just eat the normal buffet.

There are also promotions on set lunch for $12 but once inside, almost all set lunches are about $30 and the servants are very reluctant to let one of the persons take set lunch while others have buffet. Why provide such an offer then ?

The coffee is not even brew, its just 'mix' coffee which I believe is those 3in1 type. Overall not much choices.

Final words, you can go take the 'NORMAL' buffet without shashimi and BBQ. $20 is consider good value for money even for that. But strongly NOT recommended to take the $40 package because the shasimi is TOTALLY NOT worth it. But then again, if you are one of those who are satisfy with Sushi King, then I guess you wouldn't feel the difference ...

Nice Umbrella Designs

Cute n practical umbrella

observe the guy only use 2 fingers to hold the umbrella during a storm ...

Malaysia Sues A1 H1N1 patient ?

We have finally hit the target of First LOCAL transmitted A(H1N1) patient. She is a 17 years old girl who had met the 12th A(H1N1) patient flew in from Melbourne. Lets review our Health Minister's work on this so far ...

a 17 years old girl

1. Before this 1st case, Health Minister did mention that "1 local transmited case is serious enough to shut down the schools, malls and public areas". Today the response is "No action has been taken yet because it is NOT serious yet".

So it was serious before we have our 1st case,
and it is NOT that serious after we had one,
way to go !

2. Health Minister also reported that the 17-year-old girl is very irreponsible that she didn't report herself to the minister and yet she even appeared in public area like shopping mall etc. Until now, I haven't heard the Health Minister report to us exactly which mall she went to on what time.

17 years old is not even a grown up. She may be responsible to herself, her family, neighbours and friends. Her act of not reporting to minister is the same as Health Minister did NOT tell us clearly where she has went about. How would I know if I should report to the minister now ? Is she one of the person I met ? And this 48 years old man is responsible for the whole country's health but yet still choose not to share transparently.

3. Health Minister may sue those who don't report health condition to the minister like the 17 years old ?

As mentioned in No. 2, if a kid can be sued for her ignorance. Then the highly educated and responsible minister may get hang more than twice immediately.

4. Health Minister said he feels very unhappy because the 17-year-old girl is running loose again.

What ? After you have diagnosed the FIRST local transmitted A(H1N1) case and yet you are UNABLE to contain and treat the patient in urgency ? WTF .... If you cann't even handle a 17-year-old patient, how do you expect 26 millions citizens to report health condition to you ?

This is how the Virus of A(H1N1) looks like,
Its COMING to you NOW !!

An ousider review on Millionaire Mind seminar

Standard pricing of a lot of entry level seminars on Positive Attitude, Personal Finance and Get Rich cost about MYR 3,000 but last weekend's Millionaire Mind seminar costed only MYR 500, most people got in FREE and only paid a couple hundreds for the course materials - they claimed its a semi-charity event, but believe it NOT!

More than 3,000 people turned up, many from neighbouring countries especially Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. So its REALLY a HIGH RISK A1 H1N1 cook box inside the seminar hall. But I guess the power of positive mental overcome all deadly deceases, NO reported contamination case during the event ( but we may need to give it some time to really call it over ).

The venue was in Mines Wonder Land, the convention center is one of the MOST conviniently traffic oriented. In short, you only need to go pass ONE single traffic light to leave the place. Most of the by pass roads are well planned and set so that ways leading to North ( Kuala Lumpur ), South ( Putrajaya ), East ( Belakong ) and West ( Sri Kembangan ) are all accessible freely after ONE traffic light.

But 3,000 people is no small numbers, combine that with the way most Malaysian drive ( one man one car ) - so even after the seminar ended one and a half hour, the traffic is still like this below. There are tons of people standing on the street, I guess they were also withnessing one of the world's wonder like me there.

MYR 500 is cheap comparing to MYR 3,000 but if you truly believe in these super famous talented guru, you should also know better that they are really good at what they do, they wouldn't be bad with money.

Nothing comes FREE or in this case Nothing comes Cheap for nothing. More than 60% of the courses are purely promotion on other courses, telling you how important self upgrade is and therefore you should upgrade yourself by taking their MYR 3,000 to MYR 9,000 offers.

This is one of the most critical fact in this seminar because expectation is very important. Some men actually were expecting the same course flow as they were paying MYR 3,000 ( with some but not much self promotion ) and totally pissed off and left on the 2nd day ( it was a 3 days event ).

Does anyone sign up their self promoted courses ? Well, I guess you are not familiar with events like this then. One thing you should remember is that all events organized by Success Resources always, alWAYS ... end with great sign up rate.

I still remembered when Richard Tan first started this training business, he was barely a public speaker. The first few hundred times he got on stage, he was jumping and shouting like a monkey scaring most of the participants off. But today, he is one of the most reputable legendary local figures and undoubtly the BEST training community in the whole APAC region.

How and why can he make it ? His story is one of the typical --- Want to be Rich ? Join the Rich !

Did I attend the seminar ? NO. I was just having a holiday near by, I live in one of these chalets.

And this is the closest I get to the handsome old guy, may be I want to be like him one day .... with a comedian twist the Asian way :)

Paradigm Shift

I feel uncomfortable when stranger approaches too close in person, I hate to be touched un-knowingly, I see those as SERIOUS intrusion of My Privacy!

The other day I wanted to enjoy some nice peaceful great time so I was thinking to watch a movie.

Since it was still a school holidays, I have to queue for the ticket.

Irritation started to pile up after lining up for 20 minutes without much movement.

Everytime I make one step forward, the person behind walked up into close proximity and only stopped after touching the lower part of my leg.

I put my arms to the back holding the A4 size brochures perpenticular to my body to make my space. Its a darn polite way and yet CLEAR body action message, don't you think ?

One step forward, he stopped only after he almost bang into the papers I was holding, what a sucker!

The next step, I move one step up and leave my other leg behind, another damn clear body language telling the person at the back to fu!k off ! He stepped on my shoe and actually hurt my ancle.

!@$%#@@@!!!!!#!@#@!$@!$

I cann't stand it anymore so I turned around .....

I saw a man on a wheel chair, it was his wheel chair which has been kept banging on me ...

My temper dropped half, cooling down a little bit but still angry with such a public body abuse ... I opened my mouth, my super fluent 3 letter words are ready, stare at him .... *wait* ....

There is NOTHING to stare at.

He is Blind !

Or he doesn't have a clear vision thats for sure !

It was too late and some words left my mouth,
"Why do YOUuuu... need to buy a movie ticket?"

still with some left over anger from previous experiences .... totally look down on him as if "What the hell are you doing here! You Crazy son of the Bitch!"

"Sorry sir, my girl friend loves this movie. I just want to give her a surprise." The blind wheel chair man replied.

.
.
.

I don't quite remember what happened for the rest of the day. I think I walked behind his wheel chair, guided him to buy the tickets he wanted. Then I sat in the theather with my eyes closed though out the whole movie. I didn't even remember any sound effect, how I got back, what I ate for dinner, how I got on bed ...

When was the last time you shift your paradigm ?

Whats the movie you watched ? I don't know.

Why Chineses are good at Math ?

Although this may sounds like another ethnical (racism) write up but actually this is a "language" article.

I grow up with 3 languages around me so I can speak for them rather personally, they are Malay, English and Chinese. Or more precisely Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.

Its not an absolute truth but rather a more than 50% accepted stereotypes that Chineses are better in Maths. And this is why ...

In Malay, the numbers are pronounced as such :

Sa-tu, Du-a, Ti-ga, Em-pat, Li-ma, E-nam, Tu-juh, La-pan, Sem-bi-lan, Se-pu-luh

The shortest number of pronounciation is 2 and the longest is 3. Total number pronounciation for all 10 numbers is 22; An average of 2.2 pronounciation per number.

In English,

One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Se ven, Eight, Nine, Ten

Shortest : 1
Longest is 2
Total : 11
Average 1.1 pronounciation per number. Half of Malay's speed

In Chinese,

Yi, Er, San, Si, Wu, Liu, Qi, Ba, Jiu, Shi

Shortest : 1
Longest is 1
Total : 10
Average 1.0 pronounciation per number. Slightly faster than English but nonetheless the fastest among these 3.

Number pronounciation is one of the earliest toddle speech education. The small difference between 1.0 and 2.2 pronounciation per number for 1 to 10 may not seem significant at the beginning. But as one is growing up and start to deal with higher complexity in numbers aka Math, this minor difference may start to exponential up.

So in primary school, it may not make much differences in Addition, Substraction or even Multiplication and Division. However, the gap will get wider in secondary and colleges.

The reason this is only a stereotype and NEVER a TRUTH is because all a Malay-speaking-math-person need to do is to spend TWICE the EFFORT "at the beginning", then she will be able to be as good as anyone else she wants to be.
There is another saying that once you pass 30,000 repeatence of one action, you become an expert on that field. So despite this 1.0 vs 2.2 pronounciation differences, the gap will become small again once any language speaking person pass a 'certain' level. Hence, a Math degree holder or a PHD in relevant field will have minimum gap on what their native languages are. But one thing for sure, the Malay must have been much more hard working than the others at their younger ages, as they always take twice the time and effort to express the same messages ... in numbers.

So, do you think it matters what language to use to teach Sciene and Maths ?

If you started to think there is not much difference between English (1.1) and Chinese (1.0), then that is because I haven't told you the whole story about numbers yet. If you are smart, you should have observed the real 10 numbers in Math are 0 to 9 and not 1 to 10. Some English may pronounce Ze-ro (2), some others may use Nought (1) but in Mandarin, its always 'Ling' (1). Don't even get me started on :

100 Hun-dred (2) vs Bai (1)
1,000 Tho-u-sand (3) vs Qian (1)
10,000 Ten-Tho-u-sand (4) vs Wan (1)

The digits in parenthesis indicate the number of pronounciations.

Rubbish Business in Penang

Does this address mean anything to you ?

Its somewhere in Penang on my way to have my Asam Laksa in Jalan Penang from the Ferry Terminal.

What interest me is that its a JUNK shop !

Literraly JUNK !

and this is the guy who runs the place ... pretty cool guy helping to green the earth if you ask me.

visitor 090604

Its always entertaining when I have un-invited visitor at home.

Living in a city like Kuala Lumpur is not exactly a nature's haven. Especially after a major development work like Desa Park City who spoilted the whole used-to-be reserved forest hill.

Little dinasaur was so afraid when I wanted to take back my plastic container he has mistakenly fall into and couldn't get out.

I ended up releasing him in the last tree I have in my house and he was kind of puzzle why I didn't cook him up like his ancestors used to bite my ancestors's head off ...

"bye bye, cutie. I don't think you can survive any longer anyway. I am quite sure to see you soon in 2 dimension condition on the road outside. Just that you wouldn't be able to give me that puzzle look anymore."

May you be the god who will be judging me on my judgement day ....

Is Negarakuku singer still around ?

Just when I thought Wang Ming Tze is dead, I saw this bill board right beneath Komtar, Penang.

Clearly negarakuku is dead in certain states but apparently not in many Pakatan states ....

Why our Stadium Collapse, its NOT for NO reason ...

No, there is NO such thing
as roof collapse with no reason
what so ever !

We here in Malaysia
have a saying of
"BOLEH"
meaning we CAN do EVERYTHING
1st world countries can do

see below for the real reason why our stadium collapse ...

Long Life Health Tips

1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.

Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but Dr Wu says that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete

all the accumulated faeces from your intestine. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.

This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system.

Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals.

Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner.

However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals
from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.

We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out.

But Dr Wu says the opposite. He says the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and

prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

"Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate.

The Sun will make you healthier," says Dr Wu.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked.

"If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard," he says.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.

Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more.

This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.

How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough.

If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water.

If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.

Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need

to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk),
and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits.

People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock.

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance.

Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

According to Dr Wu, the biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended.

Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am,

as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.
